Discover Budapest

Budapest, Hungary’s capital, sits astride the Danube River, linking Buda’s hills with Pest’s lively avenues. Buda Castle and Fisherman’s Bastion offer sweeping views, while the Parliament Building is a neo-Gothic marvel. Thermal baths like Széchenyi are popular for relaxation, and ruin bars in the Jewish Quarter add a unique nightlife experience. Budapest’s blend of architectural grandeur, healing waters, and vibrant culture make it an intriguing destination with a rich history and contemporary vibrancy.

  • Széchenyi Baths

Soak up the natural minerals at the historic Széchenyi Baths, where you can enjoy an impressive assortment of thermal pools. There are also saunas and steam rooms.

  • Szimpla Kert

Visit a romkocsma, or 'ruin bar', in the city—old buildings transformed into bars with upcycled furniture. Szimpla Kert, the oldest and most famous, hosts live music and a Sunday flea market.

  • Dohány utcai zsinagóga

The 19th-century Dohány utcai zsinagóga (Great Synagogue) is Europe's largest and runs tours of the Jewish Quarter. The striped and domed Neo-Moorish building also houses the Hungarian Jewish Museum.

  • Szent István-bazilik

The Neo-Classical Szent István-bazilik (St Stephen's Basilica) has vibrant stained glass and a towering dome. Some tickets grant access to the terrace outside the cupola – the highest lookout in Pest.
