These terms and conditions govern the Byway referral programme. By participating as either a referrer (the individual inviting a friend) or a referee (the friend being invited), you agree to these terms.
Account status: You must hold an active Byway account.
Sharing rules: Referral codes are for personal, non-commercial use only. You must only share your code with personal connections like friends, family, or colleagues.
Prohibited actions: To protect our community and brand, you must not post referral codes on third-party voucher, coupon, or review websites (such as Trustpilot), nor promote your code using paid advertising.
New customers only: Referees must be new Byway customers who have not previously booked a trip with us.
Existing customers: If an existing customer attempts to use a referral code, the discount will be cancelled and the equivalent amount will be added to their final balance payment.
Self-referrals: You cannot refer yourself, including through the use of alternative email addresses or aliases.
Single referral limit: A referee can only be referred once. If they receive multiple codes from different people, only the first code entered at checkout will be honoured.
Refer credits and rewards can only be redeemed on a Byway package holiday.
Reward: For every successful referral, the referrer receives a £50 GBP credit, and the referee receives £50 GBP credit. In other currencies, these amounts are 70 USD / 60 EUR / 100 AUD / 100 CAD / 50 CHF / 400 DKK / 10000 JPY / 600 NOK / 100 NZD / 600 SEK, or for all other currencies, rewards and credits will be applied in GBP or EUR and converted to local currency at the time of booking.
Minimum booking value: To qualify for the reward, the referee's booking must reach a minimum total value of £750, €900 or local currency equivalent according to the standard exchange rate used by Stripe.
Exclusivity: Referral codes cannot be combined with other offers, discounts, or promotions. Only one referral code can be applied per booking.
No retroactivity: Rewards cannot be applied to any bookings made before the referral code was used or before the official programme launch date in June 2026.
Earning limits: There is no cap on the number of friends you can invite. However, Byway reserves the right to remove or cap rewards or remove participants if it suspects abuse, misuse, or fraudulent activity.
Cancelled bookings: Byway reserves the right to revoke any credits earned by a referrer or referee, if the associated booking is subsequently cancelled or altered in such a way as to become ineligible for this referral programme.
Non-refundable: Credits redeemed against a booking are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash, returned or reinstated, including where the booking is later cancelled or amended.
Expiry: Earned referral credits expire 12 months from the date they are awarded, unless they are merged with credits with an earlier date via a single redemption voucher.
Voucher conversion: When converting a credit balance into a single redemption voucher, the voucher will default to the earliest expiry date of the individual rewards being cashed in.
Data processing: We process your personal data in accordance with our privacy notice.
Link tracking: Your unique referral link may include a portion of your name or identifier. By participating, you consent to this information being shared with your invited friends for tracking purposes.
Third parties: Personal data may be shared securely with trusted third parties (like our payment processor, Stripe) solely to issue rewards.
Programme changes: Byway reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral programme or an individual’s participation at its sole discretion without prior notice. Participants are responsible for ensuring their participation complies with local laws.
